What bylineAL does
An editor’s brain for everything you write. It never invents a fact.
It comes in suites, one for each kind of writing. Editorial, for news and features, is live. Social, for X and Instagram, and Corporate, for the writing companies do, are in beta. Creative, for scripts, long-form and captions, is coming. The same standard holds in every one.
You bring your own copy. A desk reads it, finds what is weak, and writes it again. What comes back is yours to keep, change or throw out.
What the name means
Written bylineAL for a reason: byline, then AL for automated logic. Not AI.
Pronounced bilineal, a nod to the dual lineage of our system: old-school craft and automated logic.
It is one product, in two places
The desks run in a browser on a computer and in the app on your phone. Same account, same stories, same engine. Nothing is copied between them.
The computer is the bench, for long copy and real editing. The phone is for the two ends of a story: the note you take in the field, and the draft you read before you file.
What it is not
It is not a search engine, and it never goes looking for facts on its own.
It does search the web when you want it to or when it needs to. You turn on Add context and it fills the holes in your copy, marking every addition in the story and naming where each one came from. It also checks a reference before it uses one, so a film, a year or a line it reaches for is right. With neither of those in play it has no search at all, and knows nothing about your story beyond what you gave it.
